Day Tog Trip 11-11-07
Capt HE3,
Capt Ttops, Gordo the Butcher, and Seabass headed out to 11b on Sunday aboard the Robalo . Left Wincoma dock around 10:30am with the wind howling and about 7 layers of clothing on. Slow steam out into the chop loaded with 5 doz. Greenies from NE B&T and a bunch of hand-tied rigs of 50lb mono size 4 octopus hooks. Tony tied the rigs thanks to Crazy Alberto of Campsite sports.
Anchored up ~400 yds south of 11b to joining nearly 50 boat fleet right on top of each other. Caught the last of the incoming to slack and HG3 managed 1 short tog of about 11" and we also foul hooked a few bergals! Saw a few others land a few small tog around us, but no steady
pic.
We later switched to a spot closer to the buoy and just east with deeper water at high tide . When the outgoing started to swing we were in thick with Tog !!!!!!!! Gordo landed the first keeper while relieving himself off the transom. Hilarious
as he caught with his pants down yet still hooked and landed! After that we bailed about 10 more tog up to 18" and 4lbs! Hot and heavy as the NSACers swung em in as others
boats looked on. Pat managed a mongo porgy in the mix as well. HE3 rigged another live porgy "Soaker" style hoping for a stray line sider but to no avail. Tide running too hard and ran out of crabs, back to the dock. Banner tog day for NSAC aboard the Robalo. Enjoy the
