Opening Day for Huntington, Winter Flounder Record Set
Put the Mako in for first trip of the year. Sat, April 19th. Dino, Justin, Gordo, Pat and Tony. 75 degrees and Mostly Sunny. 10-15kt wind for entire day made for a chilly afternoon on the water. Fished the outgoing tide from 12-4pm. Anchored in the back of Lloyd Harbor in 10ft of water (after being scared by a sea plane landing directly behind us). Chummed frozen clam log, fished with Sand Worms from NE B&T. Smashed fresh mussles around the boat too. Dino landed first keeper at 12.5”. Switched spots to the ski area…Tony landed next two fish at 12”….then the NSAC Record Winter Flounder at 15” and 1.5lbs. Great opening day for NSAC – Huntington. Pat had fish filleted at Fort Hill Seafood then cooked up flounder that night,
excellent.
